Continued...

And now I will continue with where I left off before the haircut fiasco. So far this year we have gone to the sand dunes (April) Paiute Trial (May) and we just got back from a short trip from Idaho. The sand dunes where Jackson's first camping trip... well his first long trip anywhere. He did great, loved it and loved being on the rhino for our short family trip. Joe, Avery and Brea were also there along with my family and Mike, Crystal and the boys. It was a blast, especially when Ave and I got lost on the rhino trying to find the bathroom in the dark. Paiute was muddy and a bit rainy, but at least it wasn't dusty like last year. We had a 9 families there and rode our hearts out every day. Jackson had a blast too and again loved riding in the rhino. When he heard it start up he'd kick his legs and get a huge smile on his face. We took the jump up for him as well and hooked it on a "zip line" Chase had tied to two trees. Jack though it was great! Needless to say it was another great get-away (especially since I'd started working)

We just got back from our last trip a few days ago with some friends from Idaho. We just headed up the canyon a ways from where they live and camped out for a few days. It was hot, but the place was beautiful! We camped next to a small creek and even though the forest ranger stop us to tell us our UTV was illegal on trails for 4 wheelers, we still managed to find "truck trails" to have some fun on. Our next trip we are looking forward to is Flaming Gorge with Chase's Dad and family.

Another Adventure...

Before I being to tell you about our crazy fun get-away's this year, I must tell you about this first... Last night while I was at work, Chase decided to embark on an adventure of his own... I did get a text about it though... that he had cut Jackson's hair. It was getting long and I guess it could be trimmed up a little, but Jackson got a hair cut, not a trim a cut. So I called Chase on my break and we laughed together because Chase cut the top and couldn't seem to figure out how to even out the back and sides... Here are some pics of Chase's work of art.

Short on top...Long on the sides and back... Jack didn't seem to mind tho...

Anyhow, I decided this morning to see what I could do to help my goofy baby and his hair. It took me about an hour, probably because of my mild case of o.c.d. Here's what I got done, and I feel pretty good about it (no offense to the hubby)...

I know it's nothing professional, but with my rollie pollie ollie trying to squirm out of his seat (I don't blame him) it's the best I could do and he doesn't look half bad. He did a great job though, for the majority of the time and as long as he had a some treats he was happy as could be.

Update...

It has been mentioned by a few that my blog needs to be updated... I agree and now that I have worn out Jackson and put him down for a nap I can try and focus on this for hopefully the next 15 minutes or so (cross your fingers).

Jackson is now 7 months old, is about 17 lbs and 27 inches long, or at least he was a month ago at his doc visit. He has his two bottom teeth and is cutting his top ones and has been Oscar the grouch for the past few weeks as well as a cling monster. He's become a big daddy's boy... The minute Chase comes home all Jack's attention is focused on his daddy and won't have a thing to do with mommy. It's cute and nice because it gives me a break. Jack has also learned to wave a bit (he's till working on it) and he loves clapping. He will clap his hands together while smiling and say yeaaaa. We are in the process of teaching him how to blow kisses and say bye bye. He has been full fledged crawling for about a month now but previous to the crawling, he'd been "army crawling" (or scooting if you will) since he was a little over 5 months old. He's also been pulling himself up to table, chair, couches and anything he thinks he can grab onto and will hold on with one hand and jump or reach down for things below him. The doctor said he wouldn't be surprised if he was walking by 9 months (yeah, but I don't know that I'm ready) Jack has been so much fun and the light of my life. There's truly never a dull moment when he's awake and has kept me on my toes from day one. He loves his fruit and will eat most veggies, except carrots or mixed veggies. His favorite that I can always count on him eating is sweet potatoes.

Here is a pic of trying to get him to eat carrots...

He is very hands on and would grab the spoon or put his hand up to his mouth and spit it out then play in it. I couldn't help but laugh. He also loves bath time and playing with the water and it comes out of the spout.
He is all boy and takes on after his dad and I love him so much!

We recently got back from a few trips. Our first was the end of May down south to Piaute Trail which I will have to post about later because Jack just woke up. More to be posted soon... hopefully...
