Today was the first day we've fed Jack solids and what and adventure it was. He's been very interested in what daddy and I have been eating so much so that when grandpa left he's cheetos unattended while holding the boy, Jack reached down and started chomping on one. Jack did very well with his newly acquainted rice cereal (thank you Gerber)- I was actually surprised at how well he did and how much he liked it. The only struggle was trying to keep his hands out of his mouth and trying to keep his hands from grabbing to spoon. As much fun as he had, he is still a bottle boy... He loves his bottle and until feeding time we have to keep it out of eye's view. Here are some pics of our "solid's adventure"...

The next adventure was to make homemade salsa (or as some call it- domesticating). I obtained a recipe from Mrs. Pince, strapped my son in his car seat and headed to Albertsons to shop for our ingredients. After buying more than I needed, we came home to our dungeon (I only call it that because it's my great grandmother's basement apartment and has 3 tiny windows). I put Jack in his chair and together we learned how to make salsa. I must add that I am one of the messiest cooks/bakers alive... I had tomatoes all over my shirt, down my arms, and in my sons hair- he didn't seem to mind though. While blending the salsa, my cooking partner fell asleep to the pulses of the blender so I laid him in his crib and continued my task alone. I finished and it didn't taste all that bad- nothing like friend Avery's, but nonetheless, it was edible (as far as I know).
Only part of my mess
The finnished product... it taste's better than it looks.
